Porn Queen Banner Ads Displayed On G Rated Movie Promos By AMC Theatres
| RSS Ray’s sister company, BizGrowth Search Engine Solutions, uncovered that nationally known AMC Theatres as well as local chains that use Movietickets.com to advertise their offerings are exposing their customers to inappropriate material.People searching on AMC’s website to find movie times for PG and G rated movies are being exposed to large banner ads for The Zombie Strippers starring porn star Jenna Jameson, along with sexually suggestive graphics. Apparently, Movietickets.com handles the online ticket sales for many theatre chains, and they are not preventing R rated movies from being marketed to people searching for a Dr. Seuss movie.

You should be offended as a parent if your child looks for a PG or G rated movie and they get treated to the sight of Ms. Jameson morphing into a zombie stripper. As marketers, we also know that AMC is wasting their client’s money on advertising that is way off in message to market match.
It’s even more ironic that the movies business, who developed the rating scale, would want to show people looking for family content R rated movie advertisements, especially ones that have a heavy sexual component in the title and the graphics.
The other big question is why haven’t AMC and local movie theatre chains catching this and asking for it to stop. Some movie goers will be offended, and will take their business elsewhere which we are sure isn’t their intention. Marketing 101 would tell you that this is wrong, so the question we have is………
Who’s watching the store over at AMC and Movietickets.com?
